Purple is delighted to have once again been recognised as a winner for Employer of Choice in this year’s Australian Business Awards.

The win marks the third year in a row that Purple has been awarded in this category, which commends the agency’s commitment to developing and maintaining a leading workplace culture.

Purple People and Culture Manager Bri Kent said the award had not diminished in significance with each successive win.

“The past few years have had their challenges, and we know we are not alone in that – but we have also seen some amazing achievements for our business during this time, and we’re incredibly proud to be recognised for the strength of our team and our commitment to learning and growing along the way,” she said.

Purple Managing Director Annette Ellis said the agency had built a dedicated and engaged team that lived its values, rather than simply paying lip service to them.

“Our values and our ‘Greater Together’ ethos are genuinely ingrained in our business, with each person striving every day to support and be a part of a market leading, award-winning culture,” Ms Ellis said.

“The past year has seen us continue to invest in the growth and development of our team, build exceptional relationships with our clients, and further develop opportunities for work-life balance.”

Australian Business Awards Program Director Tara Johnston said this year’s Employer of Choice Award saw many organisations demonstrate leadership in talent management by reimagining collaboration and learning to motivate employees at every level of the business.

“The convergence of work and learning underpins the continual growth of an organisation’s capabilities, developing new skills and expertise, improving performance, and building knowledge,” Ms Johnston said.

“There has never been a more pertinent time for organisations to transform workplace collaboration, creating new opportunities to innovate and extend their competitive advantage by harnessing the power of people.”

Over the past year, Purple has developed several initiatives to boost staff participation across the business. These include transforming the performance review process, introducing a new ‘Listening Lab’ approach to team development, and investing in staff training programs such as Mental Health First Aid.

The Australian Business Awards is open to all private and public companies, multinationals and their subsidiaries, non-government organisations, educational institutions, government departments, government agencies, government authorities and statutory bodies operating in Australia.

Participants must demonstrate their achievements across the key areas of Organisational Culture & Leadership; Education, Training & Development; Health, Safety & Satisfaction; Performance, Recognition & Remuneration.
