The secret to a knotty problem? Knowing which threads to pull.
We love a challenge and we love getting results. Find out more about the impact of our work.
Our case studies include the multi-award winning Gold Royalty Response Group #heartofgold campaign as well as work including VRX Silica, Noongar Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Matagarup Bridge, WA Independent Power Association, Australian Gas Infrastructure Group, Bunbury Energy, Aeris Resources Northern Minerals and Marriage Equality.
We delivered a combination of bespoke and detailed engagement through face-to-face consultation and negotiation with the Whadjuk Working Party, local resident groups, local governments, regulators, neighbouring enterprises, institutions and special interest groups.
Cannings Purple provides a secretariat function to the WA IPA and Special Counsel Richard Harris chairs the Association. We coordinate meetings, provide strategic media and government engagement advice, prepare submissions to government, produce all communications collateral and manage the organisation’s website.
The campaign embraced a range of government and community engagement methods such as social media, digital advertising, targeted meetings, briefings and participation in political party fundraising events.
Using glass as the theme, we looked at making a visual brand that played with light and transparency. We investigated various methods of doing this, and then developed a brand based on a single pane of glass.
Cannings Purple developed an e-commerce platform and holistic digital strategy to launch the new Cole Supplies brand and promote the expansion of its product offering.

Cannings Purple was challenged with driving the approval processes to meet the strict timeframe. AGIG faced heavy penalties for project delays and therefore required our assistance to minimise this exposure.
We designed a social licence strategy for Bunbury Energy that would be measured by effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including the community and regulator.
As a proudly diverse employer, Cannings Purple believes marriage equality is an important right and was delighted to provide pro bono support for Marriage Equality WA through the committee WA Says Yes.
Property and infrastructure
We worked with Northern Minerals over several years to streamline its narrative, find ways to make complex points more easily understood and develop effective methods to deliver those messages to the right people.
We worked closely with management to develop a brand name that was synonymous with the company’s activities and aspirations. The name is derived from a Latin term for copper and was proposed by one of the company’s team.
